Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and VKD Industries Private Limited ("VKD", "we") for using Vidya at vidya.vkdindustries.com. By creating an account or using Vidya you agree to them and to our privacy notice. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree for you.
Your account and seat
- A seat is for one person. Don't share your account or let others use your seat; it works on up to two of your own devices, one at a time.
- Give true details when you sign up, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- If your institution gives you your seat, it ends when the institution's arrangement with us ends or you leave it; you can then keep using Vidya on a personal seat.
Fuel
Requests use "fuel", Vidya's usage points, within the limits of your seat. Fuel is not money: it can't be bought back, transferred outside Vidya or exchanged for cash, and we may change how much each feature uses.
What you make is yours
You own what you put into Vidya and what Vidya makes for you. You give us permission to store, process and show it only as needed to run Vidya for you, and to show it to others only where you choose to share it (for example a post, a shared link or something you list on Bazaar). You can delete it at any time.
AI answers can be wrong
Vidya's answers, code, designs and other output are produced by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important before relying on it, and never use Vidya's output as a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, engineering sign-off or safety). Follow your institution's rules on using AI in assessed work; submitting Vidya's work as your own where that isn't allowed is your responsibility.
Acceptable use
Don't use Vidya to:
- break the law, or harm, harass, threaten or deceive anyone;
- make content that sexualises minors, promotes violence or hatred, or infringes someone else's rights, including copyright;
- create malware, attack systems, or get around security, seat or usage limits;
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell Vidya, or use it to build a competing service;
- upload files you don't have the right to use.
We may remove content or pause or close an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
Connected apps and other services
When you connect Google, Microsoft or another app, its own terms also apply, and Vidya acts on your behalf only for what you ask. We are not responsible for services we don't run.
Changes to Vidya and these terms
Vidya is improving all the time, so features may change, appear or go. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in Vidya before the change applies; continuing to use Vidya after that means you accept the new terms.
Our responsibility
We work to keep Vidya available and your data safe, but Vidya is provided "as is", without a promise that it will always be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, VKD is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Vidya in the 12 months before it (nothing, if your seat is free or provided by your institution). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited.
Ending
You can stop using Vidya and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Law and contact
